My Elephant & I

Learn more about these gentle giants by keeping them company in their own natural habitat. After an introductory lesson on elephant etiquette and basic anatomy from our Camp Guide, set off on a walk through the wilderness with your elephant companion. Watch them splash about in the pond, then observe bath time – a cherished daily ritual for elephants and their mahouts alike. Burma Discovery Tour

Get a glimpse into the fascinating culture of Myanmar on an exclusive half-day visit to the border town of Takilek. A scenic 30-minute drive followed by a short walk and you’re across the bridge that forms the border between the two countries – inside Myanmar. Here, the clock rolls back by 30 minutes and the traffic shifts from one side of the road to another – a surreal experience of crossing borders by foot. Explore the town of Takilek by tuk-tuk – stop at Prajao Lakkang Temple followed by the Shwedagon Pagoda, a smaller replica of the famous golden pagoda found in Yangon. Learn which animal corresponds to your birth year and make temple offerings to the local deity. Begin your excursion with a cruise down the majestic Mekong River on-board a traditional, hand-made, long-tail boat. Venture into the heart of the Golden Triangle, where Thailand, Myanmar and Laos merge and take in the spectacular views as the three countries meet around the Mekong’s formidable shores. Continue your adventure on land, taking in all the sights and sounds of the Golden Triangle, as you are driven around the bustling streets like a local. Dive firsthand into the vernacular – hopping from songtaew (public van) to tuk-tuk – as you navigate the bustling streets and local fresh markets before escaping to the calm of an ancient temple, the Chedi Luang. Countryside BICYCLE TOUR

Take in the gorgeous natural beauty of Chiang Rai's rural landscape. Wang Lao Hike

This two-hour hike starts with a short ride to Wang Lao. Walk through the village observing the locals’ way of life and discovering northern hill architecture. A brief hike through the jungle, past terraced rice fields and pineapple plantations ends with panoramic views of the Golden Triangle below. Soak in the view before heading back on the trail through a bamboo tunnel, finishing at Sob Ruak. Hall of Opium Visit

Travel to a bygone era of the Golden Triangle – a land with a rich and colorful past. Located near the fields where millions of poppies once bloomed, the Hall of Opium Museum offers a comprehensive look at the historical opium trade in the region and the characters involved. Chiang Rai Kaleidoscope
