Located in the heart of Lisbon, our historic Hotel wears the cultural heart and soul of Portugal on its sleeve. Inside, art-deco sensibilities mingle with an updated Louis XVI style, and a collection of important contemporary local artwork fills our halls. Outside, views of the city’s rolling hills and brightly tiled exteriors spread out before you. After spending the day exploring the city sights, many just steps from the Hotel, we invite you for dinner on the terrace of our acclaimed Varanda Restaurant to watch the pink hues of sunset emerge from the horizon.
Accommodations
- Royal Classic Suite
Natural light streams from panoramic windows in our signature suite, where three private balconies, a spacious living area and a separate dining room invite hours of conversation, as well as space for a peaceful retreat.
Details - Presidential Suite
A grand marble entrance welcomes you to this top-floor corner suite, where living and dining rooms were made for entertaining and a tranquil bedroom offers commanding views of the statue of Christ and the Basílica da Estrela.
Details - Deluxe Park-View Room
Inspired by the Hotel’s original Fifties-style accommodations, these comfortable rooms are conveniently located on the fifth to the seventh floors of the Hotel, with most featuring private terraces perfect for enjoying your morning cup of coffee. Draped in symbolism, the chairs are modelled on those found in the Hotel’s Card Room back in 1959, and inject a luxurious vibrancy with their rich blue canard teal hue and geometric crushed velvet fabric.
Details - Four Seasons Junior Suite
These comfortable Fifties-inspired Four Seasons Junior Suites are framed by a seamless backdrop of earth and stone shades, warm woods and delicate patterns. The carpet designs are inspired by the ‘waves’ of the Lino António tapestry – Olisipo – that descends from the Mezzanine Level to Ritz Bar in the Lobby. The bedside tables – an edit of the originals – feature a glossy veneer that provides textural contrast to the carved headboard.

Eye-catching handmade tapestries hang in Almada Negreiros Lounge
Our Art Collection
An eclectic mix of sculptures, paintings and tapestries makes the Hotel a veritable museum of mid-20th–century Portuguese art. Let us show you one of the largest and most important privately owned collections in the country, on display within our walls.

Gracing the lobby’s lounge, you’ll see Almada Negreiros’ Centaur trilogy of Portalegre tapestries, inspired by the constellation Centaurs. These notable works by the artist – who referred to himself as a futurist artist – are absolutely stunning.
